How to Get a Free iPhone with a Port Number

The entire process takes about 30 minutes. Here's exactly what to do.

1

Choose Your Deal

Check our iPhone Deals page for the latest promotions. Each deal shows the clawback risk so you know what you're committing to.

Tip: If you want zero financial risk, look for deals marked ✓ Phone is Yours — these are instant discounts where the phone is yours at checkout.
2

Check Carrier Family Rules

Carriers block ports within the same family. You can't port a T-Mobile number to Metro (both T-Mobile family), or an AT&T number to Cricket (both AT&T family). Use the checker below to see which port numbers work for your destination.

Select the carrier you want to switch to:

Buy Your Port Number

Once you know which carrier family you need, buy a port number from us for $14. You'll receive the phone number, account number, and PIN — everything the carrier store needs.

  • PIN / passcode — included in your order email
  • Valid ID — driver's license or state ID

The store rep will activate your new line, port your number over, and give you the promotional device. For instant-discount deals, you walk out with the phone immediately. For bill-credit deals, you'll start receiving monthly credits on your bill.

At the store: Just tell the rep you're switching carriers and want to port your number. That's all they need to know — the process is the same whether you've had the number for years or days.

Before You Go

Understand the commitment

Postpaid "free phone" deals require 24-36 months of service. Canceling early means you owe the remaining device balance. Read our Clawback Guide to understand the real risk.

Your personal number is safe

The port number is a separate number used only to qualify for the deal. Your personal phone number stays on whatever carrier you currently use.
